Polk County deputies have taken a suspect in a fatal Polk City stabbing into custody.

According to deputies, 52-year-old Nelson Robinson fatally stabbed 63-year-old Horace C. Kinsler Thursday night during an altercation.

Robinson was located Friday morning and taken into custody.

Officials said Robinson was engaged in an argument with Kinsler and his brother, 49-year-old Joseph Kinsler on Smith Road when the disagreement became physical.

Witnesses said after the struggle, Robinson fled on foot.

Horace was stabbed in the chest and died at the scene. Joseph Kinsler was transported to Lakeland Regional Health Center with stab wounds to his chest and left arm. He is in stable condition.  

There is an active warrant for Robinson charging him with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.

According to the sheriff's office, Robinson has been arrested 28 times in Polk County on charges including resisting an officer with violence, aggravated battery and sexual battery.
