A pedestrian was struck and killed by a sport utility vehicle Friday night in Bradenton, authorities say.
John Lee Waring, 50, of Bradenton was crossing U.S. 41 north of 63rd Avenue W around 8:40 p.m. when he walked into the path of a Honda Pilot, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Waring died at the scene.
The driver of the Pilot and a passenger were not injured.
