Police have arrested two people they say murdered an acquaintance in their northeast St. Petersburg home within the last week or two and concealed his body on the property.
Derrick McMillin, 40 and Jennifer Schlag, 45, were taken into custody Saturday morning and will be charged with first degree murder, police said.
The investigation began around 1 a.m. when police information received information that a murder had taken place at a home on the 700 block of 87th Avenue N. The body of a 54-year-old man was found at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Police say it appears the motive was drug related.
