The Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport has received a $1.3-million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The grant, part of the FAA's Airport Improvement Program, will be used to install new and improved lighting.

The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners accepted $1,338,254 for the improvements.

LED fixtures will be installed to replace the airport's 20-year-old lighting system.

New cabling and other support structures also will be added.

The 2,400-acre Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport includes a Technology Center which is home to more than 130 world class manufacturers and aerospace suppliers with over 2,000 employees.
