The Citrus County Education Foundation has received a large donation to benefit area schools.
According to partner newspaper the Citrus County Chronicle, the foundation received $100,000 from an anonymous donor.
Foundation officials said the generous gift will help implement four programs, including an Internet-based tutoring system.
The funds also will go towards a social skills program that will benefit students with severe learning and physical disabilities, a program to help teachers offset the cost of out-of-pocket expenses and technology.
Stephen Barbieri, CCEF’s executive director, said the implementation of these programs would not be possible without the donation.
