A 42-year-old man trying to cross U.S. 19 was struck by a vehicle and killed Monday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the still unidentified man from Tampa was crossing the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 near Alderman Road in Palm Harbor when the accident happened.
Troopers say the man walked into the path of the Mazda 3 sedan, driven by 39-year-old Brandon Lynn Ford.
Ford and his passenger, 42-year-old Derek Alan Howren, were not injured.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
