Two people were arrested in Tampa late Monday after authorities said they pointed a laser at a police helicopter.
According to officials, a TPD helicopter was assisting a patrol unit at an unrelated robbery investigation near north 22nd Street and E. Fowler Avenue when a green laser was pointed at the helicopter multiple times.
Officers were dispatched to the area and found Christopher Ryan Davis and Juliana Marie Lampe on the front porch of their home on 19th Street.
Police said both Davis and Lampe admitted to pointing the laser at the helicopter.
Davis, 24, and Lampe, 21, were both charged with misuse of a laser pointing device. The FBI also responded and will determine if federal charges are appropriate, Tampa police officials said.
There were no injuries reported.
