A 28-year-old Orlando man was arrested after threatening a teacher with a gun at a Seminole High School football game Friday night, authorities said.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Matthew Charles Caulfield confronted a group of students in the parking lot of the school at 8401 113th Street N. just before 9 p.m.

Deputies say Caulfield was exchanging words with the students and provoking them when Seminole High teacher Joshua Walker, who was nearby, stepped in.

Witnesses told deputies Caulfield threatened Walker, telling him he would shoot him and showing a gun that was tucked in his pants.

School resources deputies responded and took Caulfield into custody. He was in possession of a .40 caliber handgun, deputies say.

Deputies say Caulfield was not known to the teacher or the students and that alcohol may have been a factor in his actions. He was charged with aggravated assault on a School Board employee, possession of a firearm at a school-sponsored event, carrying a concealed firearm and trespass on school grounds.
