About 30 guests were evacuated early Wednesday when firefighters responded to a motel fire on U.S. 19 in Clearwater.
The blaze apparently broke out in an air conditioning unit on the second floor on the northwest corner of the Knights Inn, 20788 U.S. 19.
A 30-year-old woman was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. A 25-year-old woman declined medical treatment at the scene.
