Students and faculty at a Hernando County high school are praying for one of their own.

Sebastian Rivera, the starting quarterback for Central High School, crashed his motorcycle along Mariner Boulevard.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. while the 16-year-old was on his way to school.

Assistant coach Kris Brooks has known him for a while.

"He draws you in with his personality," Brooks said. "He is just fantastic. I can't say enough good things about him."

Principal John Stratton said getting this kind of news is always heartbreaking. He said his thoughts and prayers are with Sebastian and his family.

"Just an all-around great kid," Stratton said.

According to investigators, two other vehicles were involved in the accident. No other injuries were reported.

Sebastian, a junior, is listed in critical condition.
