Polk County Sheriff’s detectives continue to seek the public's help in identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for shooting, what is believed to be a BB gun, at two school buses at approximately 3:32 p.m. on Friday.
One bus was in the area of Spring Lake Mobile Home community, approximately one mile south of Lem Carnes Road on Highway 17-92 when witnesses heard glass breaking.
The second bus was also traveling on Highway 17-92 near the area of Bates Road.
There were no injuries.
If you recognize any vehicles seen in surveillance video taken from one of the buses, please contact deputies at 863-298-6200.
Drivers of the vehicles near the area at the time may have seen or heard something which will assist in the investigation, deputies said.
Sheriff Grady Judd said there will be added security measures in place to make sure students are safe when they return to school on Tuesday.
There was no school for students in Polk County Monday because of a teacher work day.
