We had just a few isolated showers on Thursday afternoon and evening over Polk County.

Otherwise, it was another dry day with highs into the lower 90s.

Rain chances should increase a little on Friday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible. Highs will be back to the lower 90s with rain chances around 30 percent.

Deeper moisture to our west will arrive over the weekend and our rain chances go up to about 40-50 percent each day during the long holiday weekend.  No change in temperatures or humidity.

It is rare to go into a Labor Day weekend without a tropical weather threat somewhere but that is the case this year. There are no signs of any tropical development.

Tropical Storm Fred continues to dissipate over the far-tropical Atlantic with no threat to land.
