A Manatee County couple is doing double duty after having two sets of twins, just a year apart.

Bonnie and Corey Keyworth, of Bradenton, are the proud parents of twin boys, Michael and Malachi, who are 14 months old and a second set of twins, a boy and girl, Dominick and Kaitlynn, who are 2 weeks old.

Shortly after getting married in 2013, the couple, who both went to Lakewood Ranch High School, started a family. They welcomed their first set of twins on July 3, 2014.

They said the boys were only a few months old when they learned they were expecting again.

Bonnie, 29, said at first, doctors told her she was only having one baby, but she had a hunch she was having twins again. At 18 to 20 weeks pregnant, she learned she was right.

“It was very much a surprise for us,” said Bonnie. “We were not expecting it all. You don’t hear about two sets of twins very often.”

Her husband, Corey, 28, said he couldn’t believe the news.

“When were told we were having twins boys the first time I was like, OK,” he said.  “That’s a little odd for me, but I rolled with it. Then, when I found out we’re having twins again, I thought the guy was pulling my leg.”

But their doctor wasn’t.

The couple welcomed their second set of twins on August 16.

“It’s amazing,” said Bonnie. “It’s the best thing in the world. It really is.”

The couple admits they are tired and very busy feeding the babies and changing dozens of diapers daily, but they both say they are blessed.

“Three boys and one girl, I’m set,” said Corey. “I’m happy.”

Twins run in Bonnie’s family.

“My great grandmother was a twin and she herself had two sets of twins,” said Bonnie.

When asked if they plan to have any more children, the couple said they are unsure. However, they say it’s a big topic with family and friends.

“Triplets is what everybody is teasing us about,” said Bonnie.  “Everyone says if we get pregnant again, we’ll have triplets.”

But, this couple said they’re not ready to take their chances again just yet. Instead, they said they want to focus on raising the four they already have.

Bonnie and Corey both work at Wal-Mart on State Road 64 in East Bradenton. They said their company has been very supportive.

Bonnie said for now she plans on taking some time off to care for the babies, but she hopes to go back to work in the future.

The couple said family and friends have also been very supportive, donating diapers and baby items to them.

They also said members from their church, Christian Retreat’s Family Church, donated a van to them, so they can all fit into one car.

The babies are all fraternal and were born without any fertility treatments.
