A 26-year-old Lake Wales martial arts teacher has been arrested and charged with having sex with one of his underage female students.
Chase Woolman, the lead instructor at Tae Kwon Do School of Excellence in Lake Wales, was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual battery and lewd molestation.
The girl began taking courses in 2003 and the sexual encounters started in 2010 when she was a teenager, Lake Wales police said.
According to police, the girl said Woolman made her touch him inappropriately and eventually made her perform a sex act on him. The two also later had sex multiple times in his truck and at the tae kwon do facility.
The encounters ended in October 2013, police said. Woolman was 24 then and his wife had found out about the allegations by then, the girl told police.
The girl met with Lake Wales police this week.
Woolman was taken into custody and admitted to police he had sex with the girl. He was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail.
