Police have apprehended two armed suspects in Lakeland that prompted a lockdown of two Lakeland schools on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, a resident said two men knocked on the front door of a home on Golden Rule Court around 12:40 p.m., but when no one answered, the men went to the back of the house.
The resident confronted the men, and police said one of them pointed a gun at the resident, then ran.
The lockdowns for Dixieland Elementary School and Lakeland Christian School have been lifted.
