Things are slowly getting back to normal at the U.B.U Color Salon in South Tampa.

The salon's owner Penny Magdziak said the business was flooded last month when cars driving through high water pushed it into her shop.

"Oh it's been a nightmare but we're getting everything back together," said Magdziak. "We still have a lot of work to do though."

She said walls are damaged, equipment has to be replaced and the flooring needs to be refinished.

She also had to close the salon for one day to clean up.

"And we're looking at one more day, too, when we do the floors but hopefully after that we won't have anymore," she said.

Magdziak said without flood insurance it's hard to pay for all the work, so she's planning to look into loans being offered by the state.

Businesses can apply for short-term, interest free loans between $1,000 and $25,000 through Florida's Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program.

The loans are available to businesses in Dixie, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Taylor counties for flooding that occurred from July 25 through August 3, 2015.

"I would look into it just to check it out and see if it will get us on our feet a little bit more," said Magdziak.
