A strong storm Saturday night produced some funnel clouds and a lot of rain.

Showers and storms started near the coast in the mid-afternoon along the sea breeze.  The east coast sea breeze made fast progress west across the state. The collision of the two happened early in Citrus County. Storms lingered into the evening in southern Manatee County.

Sunday looks similar.  Storms will be likely around at the coast early, but the best chances will start in the early afternoon near the coast then shifts away from the immediate coast into the afternoon. The sea breeze will be forming and shifting inland as the day wears on.

High temperatures will be normal from near 90 near the coast in low to mid 90s inland.  The heat index will be from 99 to 105.

An upper-level low will be in North Florida to South Georgia. This will be nearby plus plenty of moisture will be in place through Sunday, so the rain chance is 60%.

Slight drier air will move in Sunday, bring the rain coverage down a bit.
