The mother of an infant whose body was found in a wooded area of North Port is going to prison.

Kristin Bury took a plea deal and will serve 25 years for the death of her 9-week-old son, Chance Walsh.

Chance disappeared last fall, and several weeks later he was found buried in a shallow grave.

Investigators say Chance was severely abused, and that his body was left in a crib for several days before the couple buried him.

As part of the plea deal, Bury will testify against Chance's father, Joseph Walsh. Deputies say Walsh beat the baby to death in September. He is facing second-degree murder charges.
