Here's what you need to know about the Tampa Bay area's weather forecast for Saturday night and Sunday:

  • Foggy start to Sunday
  • Temperatures climb into the 70s
  • Rain arrives by midweek

High clouds will help to prevent significant cooling through the morning, but expect low temperatures slightly below normal but a few degrees above Saturday morning.

Lows will be in the low 40s north to low to mid 50s around Tampa Bay.

Higher dew points will aid in the development of shallow and patchy fog overnight into Sunday morning, especially in the typical fog-prone interior and low-lying areas.

Warming will begin Sunday as veering southeast winds around western Atlantic high pressure increase moisture. Meanwhile, high temperatures will climb as the high clouds continue to stream in from the Gulf.

Some weakening upper-level energy crosses over Florida on Monday. This will cause showers over South Florida. There may be a few showers that could pop up as far north as Tampa Bay. Rain chances are around 20 percent.

As an upper-level ridge of high pressure moves in, Tuesday will be drier and warmer with temperatures making it to or above 80 degrees.

A cold front will then approach the area Tuesday night and Wednesday stalling just north of the area. This will allow for showers over the Gulf to start moving onshore Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures on Wednesday should get into the upper 70s before rain moves in.
