Here's what you need to know about the Tampa Bay area's weather forecast for Monday:

  • Increasing sunshine Monday
  • Rain arrives by midweek
  • Warming trend starts

High pressure in the western Atlantic will keep light southeasterly winds across the area.

This will continue to edge up the dew points. This and the high clouds will limit cooling through morning.

Low temperatures will be in the mid-50s for the Nature Coast to near 60 around Tampa bay.

This southeast flow typically brings some low clouds and patchy fog. The high clouds will prevent widespread fog, but low clouds will be plentiful.

Weakening upper level energy will pass overhead Monday bringing a small chance for a brief shower or sprinkle, but skies will still tend to be brighter than Sunday.

Temperatures continue to increase, rising into the mid and upper 70s.

An upper level ridge of high pressure builds in on Tuesday, continuing the warming trend. High temperatures will move to around 80. The rain chance goes away, briefly.

A cold front moves into the northern Gulf on Wednesday.

The front will stall out just north of the area as upper level energy moves through the southwest flow above.

Moisture will quickly increase as this system approaches. Some sea fog may develop near the coast for Tuesday through Wednesday with winds out of the south.

Numerous showers will then move from the Gulf into the area later Wednesday.

The cold front will slowly work southward on Thursday, keeping rain chances high.

The front edges south through early Friday ending the showers. Winds will increase behind the front later on Friday.

Cooler and drier high pressure builds into the area for the weekend. Temperatures will be above normal through Thursday and then fall to below normal through the weekend.
