With the new year comes new improvements to Hernando County's Public Transportation system, better known as "The Bus".

The Bus can now pick you up and drop you off in a lot more places.

"I think it's great," said Carl Grzebien who rides a lot. "I think it's about time we have service to Pasco."

That's right, the county's transit system now goes south into Pasco and ties in with their system. Carl is 80 percent blind and can't drive. He says it's a huge help when it comes to getting to his doctors.

"It has been a longtime coming," Carl said. "It's what a lot of people want and need."

If you want, you could go all the way to Hillsborough or Pinellas now.

A new route has also been added opening up part of Spring Hill. The green route has around 80 stops along popular roads like California Street, Wiscon Road and Spring Hill Drive.

"I also like the fact the bus goes past Mariner now where I live," said Marjory Devlin.

Wait times have also been tweaked. They have been reduced from 75 to 60 minutes. Carl says all the improvements that have been made, are awesome.

"People can get out and do more, see more and experience more of what Hernando and Pasco have," he said.
