A 42-year-old Lecanto woman was killed Monday afternoon in a motorcycle crash in Inverness.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Dani Plante was killed after the motorcycle she was riding on was struck by a vehicle on State Road 44 near south Tighe Drive.
The crash happened at 5:30 p.m. when the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck attempted to make a U-turn on State Road 44. As the truck completed the U-turn, the motorcycle, driven by Joel Talley, collided with the passenger side door.
Talley, 55, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Ocala Regional Hospital. Plante later died at the hospital.
No one in the Ford was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
