If you've seen the movie "A League of Their Own," then you've heard the song.

These women are the real players from the All-American league.

"I’m very proud of that period in history. I think that was a wonderful time to live in history," said All-American League player Jeneane Lesko.

Playing for the Grand Rapids Chicks, Lesko said she threw a mean fastball.

But the game was more than just winning.

"We were tough, but you know, we weren’t against each other," said player Toni Palmermo.

The league started in 1943 as a way to keep America's favorite pastime alive while the men were fighting World War II.

In the 1950s, the league fizzled out, but for the last 70 years these women continued to meet and came up with a new source of inspiration: To build a women’s sports Hall of Fame.

The league is hopeful to move into the vacant G-Wiz building in downtown Sarasota. However, the league is currently securing funding to do so.

The league is hosting an event on Saturday night to meet the players of the teams.
