Simone Biles' gymnastics coach, Aimee Boorman, is now coaching Olympic hopefuls in Sarasota.

  • Biles is a three-time world champion

Boorman, who coached Biles for 11 years, stood by Biles' side in Rio when she won gold at this summer's Olympics and became a three-time world champion.

"I saw the score first, and I went over to hug her, and she just said, 'Did I do it?' Boorman said of Biles.

"That was a very emotional moment for both of us."

Boorman is looking ahead at her next group of champions in her new role, coaching at Evo Athletics in Sarasota.

Hannah Joyner, 15, is one of Boorman's students who hope to follow in Biles' footsteps. Joyner left her family in Texas a month ago to train in Sarasota.

"She's, like, the best coach ever, so you can’t really get a better coach than that," Joyner said.

Whether or not the students become champions, Boorman hopes to prepare them for any future success.

"Some kids are going to be happy with a college scholarship, some kids are not going to be happy until they're standing on that Olympic floor," Boorman said. "So whatever goal they set is what I want to guide them on."

Evo Athletics also coaches cheerleading and ninja warrior training.
