It’s been a rough two weeks for the wife of a convenience store worker robbed and gunned down in Lake Wales on Oct. 27.

"I can not explain to you how much I miss him," said Arzina Hafsa, in tears.

The robbery and shooting happened at the QP Convenience Store on N. Scenic Hwy, around 2:22 a.m. as Muhammad Alam was closing and leaving the store.

"Everything changed. My life, my family.  Everything changed. He was a very important person to us. Everything. He took care of me,” Hafsa explained.

The couple was married for 12 years and had two daughters. Arzina said Muhammad was a good husband who loved his daughters and loved to make people laugh.  She said he was always helping people. "When somebody came by the store and they said they had no full money, and sometimes he said, 'OK, you can give it to me later.' All the time he used to be like that," Hafsa said.

That morning, she said Muhammad called her and said he was on his way home. When he didn’t show up, she became worried.

She went to the gas station, saw the crime tape and then went to the hospital. "After 30 minutes, somebody came, a doctor or nurse, and she held my hand and said I'm sorry, he’s no more,” she said in tears.

The gas station’s surveillance video shows two suspects wearing hoodies running off after the shooting.

Police believe the robbers confronted Muhammad, took his pants and his wallet, and then one of them shot him.

Investigators have since found Muhammad's phone, but they haven't been able to track down his killer.

Arzina said she just wants closure. "I want justice you know, because I never ever imagined this was going to happen in my life. Why people do this is my question,” Hafsa said.
