There was a fireball spotted off Florida Gulf Coast just southwest of Bradenton Monday night.

Based on the eyewitness accounts, the meteor began falling 46 miles above the Gulf of Mexico, 8 miles from Sarasota.

It then moved slightly north of west at 40,000 miles per hour before disintegrating at an altitude of 15 miles.
