Tampa police have given the all clear on an earlier report of a suspicious package and the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard and North Habana Avenue has been reopened. 

  • TPD: Suspicious package was a utility monitoring device. There is no threat.
  • Suspicious package reported at MLK Blvd and Habana Ave in Tampa
  • Police closed intersection

Police had responded to the report of a suspicious package just after 8 a.m. The intersection was closed and traffic was rerouted. Emergency personnel were just south of the intersection on Habana Ave. 

By 9 a.m., police were able to determine the package was a utility monitoring device and there was no threat. 

The intersection was then reopened.
