The Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft investigating Otto found that it is a little weaker this morning.

  • Otto impacting Central America
  • No threat to Florida or the US
  • Hurricane Center

It’s a tropical storm with maximum sustained winds 70 mph. It’s moving west-northwest at 5 mph.

Otto is expected to restrengthen into a hurricane before it makes landfall on Thursday and a Hurricane Warning is in effect for parts of Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

Otto will weaken after the center moves over land.

If Otto survives into the Pacific Ocean, it will keep the same name.

Hurricane season officially ends November 30.

Remember that the spaghetti model plot does not indicate the strength of a system or even development at all. It only predicts where this broad area of low pressure is expected to go.
