The Senate has passed Marco Rubio's legislation to improve Hurricane forecasting - the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act, which includes the Hurricane Forecast Improvement Act that Rubio introduced in May 2015.

Rubio sent out a statement after the legislation was passed:

“Floridians saw two major hurricanes inflict significant damage on our state this year. This legislation will help save lives and avoid damage to our economy by improving the way the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration tracks these dangerous storms. I’m glad this legislation is now poised for final approval in the House and we are closer to ensuring families and businesses are better prepared for severe weather in the future.”
