Police said one person was killed and two were injured in a Tuesday-morning crash.
It happened just after 1:30 a.m. on 54th Avenue South.
St. Petersburg police said the driver of a blue Chrysler Sebring lost control while navigating a curve, left the road, hit two palm trees in the median, overturned and caught fire.
Witnesses helped the 39-year-old driver, Tron L. Morgan, from the burning vehicle and officers helped remove 37-year-old passenger Steed C. Garrison. They were taken to Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries.
A second passenger, Carlos Garrison, 35, died at the scene.
Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and said charges are pending.
