Officials said Darren Decker, 42, and Jessica Baker, 45, were suspected of killing Don "Terry" Plumeri at his home on March 31.

The crime occurred during a string of burglaries at the beginning of the year in Citrus County. Deputies were called on April 1 to do a welfare check on Plumeri and found the victim deceased, bound, and with blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

Decker and Baker were arrested on April 18 for a burglary that occurred that day in Sumter County.

A grand jury indicted the pair with first-degree premeditated murder and charges of burglary of a dwelling while armed on December 28, 2016.
