Deputy Yerbuty and Deputy Fults responded to the home in Inverness before fire rescue arrived on scene.

A woman was still inside trying to put out a kitchen fire while looking for her dog, Chloe. Deputy Yerbury dashed into the house with a fire extinguisher to fight the flames, while Deputy Fults searched for the dog.

The two deputies were able to put out the fire and find the woman's dog. The Citrus County Sheriff's Office said they are proud of their deputies who put aside their own safety for the well-being of others.
