The woman police said was kidnapped and robbed in a popular Tampa entertainment district early Sunday is recovering.

Tampa police continue to search for a suspect they say attacked the woman early Sunday in the South Howard area of Tampa.

According to police, the woman was attacked as she got into her vehicle at 2 a.m. in the 900 block of South Howard Avenue, a popular entertainment area.

Police, who said the attack appears to be random, are examining surveillance video and asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. 

In the video, the suspect can be seen striking the woman in the back of the head and pushing her into her car. He then drove off in her car with her in it. 

The woman suffered only minor injuries, police said. 

Police said the suspect took the woman's belongings and left the scene.
