Education is a big deal for parents, especially if they’re planning to vote.
President-elect Donald Trump spent a bit of time campaigning on education issues this year.
Talking about education and what this country does for students, Trump made this claim, "We spend more per student than almost any other major country in the world."
PolitiFact Florida heard the claim and rated it TRUE.
“Now, there is some question about, you know, how you consider something to be a major country, but one thing we do know is that among its economic peers, the United States spends well over $12,000 per student, and that ranks third out of 24 major economies, and the only ones above us are Switzerland at No. 1, and then Norway,” PolitiFact writer Josh Gillin said.
It’s for that reason Trump’s claim received a TRUE rating.
