  • Deputies say she admitted to buying heroin, injecting herself with child present

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said Amanda Riley, 30, was charged with felony child neglect without great bodily harm.

Deputies were called Friday night to the Wawa on North Washington Boulevard.

The store manager told authorities that Riley went directly to the restroom and was found unresponsive about five minutes later.

She was taken to a hospital, where deputies said she admitted to buying heroin earlier in the day and injecting it while inside the restroom.

The 4-year-old was placed in the custody of relatives.
