The Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrested a 13-year-old after he reportedly threatened to "shoot up campus" at Paul R. Smith Middle School.

Officials said the teen allegedly stated out loud in class that he planned to "shoot up campus" on Nov. 22 before the holiday break.

According to officials, due to the teen not having a gun, he gave a false report with the intent to mislead and deceive the class concerning issues of a firearm in a violent manner against the school. 

The teen is charged with false report use of firearm against state property.
