The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is honoring one of their own today. Their Electronic Detection K-9 will be featured in the latest issue of People magazine's annual pet awards.

Gia is trained to find hidden computer equipment. Deputies say this specific kind of K-9 training is very valuable to law enforcement and detectives in cases of child pornography and pedophiles.
The MCSO says Gia's handler, Detective Joni Zimmerman, is very proud.
