Here's what you need to know about the Tampa Bay area's weather for Wednesday evening and tomorrow:

  • Freeze warning in effect tonight for Citrus and Hernando Counties
  • Frost advisory tonight for Polk, Pasco, inland Hillsborough and inland Manatee Counties
  • Lots of sunshine through the end of the week

A cold forecast is on tap as the winds finally calm down but that means the coldest air will settle to the ground.

Therefore, expect a lot of frost for Thursday morning. Citrus and Hernando County will see a freeze.

There will be frost in many areas of Pasco, Hillsborough and Polk counties. There will even be patchy frost into northern Pinellas and eastern Manatee County.

The lows will range from near 27 in Citrus County to the upper 30s around Tampa Bay.

After the cold start Thursday will actually end up being a warmer, more pleasant day as the winds will finally be much lighter. Skies will be mostly sunny all day making for a nice looking winter day.

Thursday night will not be as cold, but it will still be chilly with lows in the 40s to upper 30s under clear skies.

Friday will end the week on a warming note as we finally see our high temperatures get back to about 70 in the afternoon. Skies will be mostly sunny on Friday also.
