A team of University of South Florida St. Petersburg students spent the past week in New Hampshire, experiencing the political process firsthand.

The 23 students spent a hectic week in the Granite State, working with different candidates and getting a front row seat on how government works. The students kept track of their adventures on a class blog.

Political science professor Dr. Judithanne McLauchlan said the Road to the White House class was great for the students, allowing them access to candidates, putting them to work on phones and going door-to-door to discuss what was on the minds of voters.

"Our students were phone banking, they were trudging door to door in the snow, which quite a number of inches have accumulated since we have been here," McLauchlan said. "They (students) were at polling places so they saw their candidates and others. We have the pictures up on our blog, with (Carly) Fiornia and (Ben) Carson and (Donald) Trump, working the polls and talking to voters last minute."

The students are now returning by bus to Florida, where they will continue volunteer work for candidates ahead of the Florida primary, which will be held March 15.
