A Tampa police officer escaped injury late Wednesday when his cruiser went off a north Tampa road and ended up on top of a group of large rocks.
Officials said the officer was responding to a call just after 10 p.m. at North Brooks Street and 99th Avenue.
For some reason, the cruiser went off the road, into a yard and struck the boulders.
The front end of the vehicle went well off the ground.
The crash remains under investigation.
