A brush fire near the Hernando-Citrus County line partially closed U.S. 19 on Saturday, and a couple of residents voluntarily evacuated their homes, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office said.

The fire, which burned on both sides of U.S. 19, is near Parakeet Road in Weeki Wachee.

The fire jumped several roads and was 90 percent contained as of Saturday evening.

The Sheriff's Office, Hernando Fire Rescue and the Division of Forestry were on scene. No structures were damaged, the Sheriff's Office said.
