A Spring Hill woman has been arrested on charges of misusing 911.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, Carolee Hammond, 56, was taken into custody on Monday after authorities said called 911 multiple times during the past few days.

Deputies said paramedics from Spring Hill Fire Rescue responded to Hammond's Everett Avenue home Monday just after 2 a.m. She also called on the same morning just before 4 a.m.

The calls were Hammond's sixth and seventh to 911 since Jan. 28, authorities said.

When paramedics arrived early Monday, Hammond requested a ride to a hospital, officials said. When authorities told her she was not in any distress, she told them "she wanted a ride to the hospital to get some medicine."

Paramedics had previously took Hammond to the hospital on Saturday and Sunday.

Emergency room physicians told paramedics that Hammond was not suffering from any medical conditions when she arrived at the hospital and was released soon after her arrival.

After her first call on Monday, Hammond was told she was misusing 911, and another call would prompt her arrest.

Later that morning, when she called 911 again, deputies were dispatched to her home.

Authorities said Hammond called for medical services again, was evaluated and deemed not suffering from any medical conditions.

She was then placed under arrest, charged with misuse of 911 and had bond set at $1,000.
