One man is dead and two others injured after detectives said they were shot Tuesday night in Dade City.
Detectives say the shooting happened in the area of 37143 Withlacoochee Ave. at about 10:30 p.m. The three men were taken to an area hospital by their family members.
Ricardo Hernandez, 38, died from his injuries. Ricardo Reynoso, 17, is in critical condition, and Leon Andrew Hernandez, 22, sustained injuries described as not life-threatening.
Detectives are now investigating possible suspects in the shooting.
Officials say deputies have been working in that part of Dade City for the past month investigating gang and drug activity. They say they believe the shootings are related to gangs or drugs, and that the victims have all been investigated for crimes, including drugs, robbery, grand theft and assault.
The investigation continues.
