A new initiative aimed at educating both law enforcement and the public about hate crimes is coming to St. Petersburg.
"About Face: Turning Away from Hate" is a new training video developed by the U.S. Attorney's Hate Crimes Working Group.
The goal is to create a new forum for both law enforcement officials and the public to discuss how both groups can prevent discrimination.
"This training that we're doing is to teach folks to go out in the community, into the schools and teach people about other people's perspective," said Lee Bentley, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida.
"It's about teaching people to stand in someone else's shoes."
