An escapee from a Hillsborough juvenille detention center was arrested Thursday morning at a vacant house in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg police say Anthony Bays, 18, of Georgetown, Georgia, was found Feb. 4 in a vacant house at 251 Davison Ave. NE on Feb. 4 by officers who weree called to investigate suspicious circumstances.

Initially, Bays gave police a false name. He eventually admitted to his true identity and that there was a warrant for his arrest, police said.

Bays was one of two teenagers who escaped from Falkenburg Academy on Jan 31. He was being held there on grand theft auto charges.

The second escapee, Anthony Cook, 17, has not yet been found.
