Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in Ormond Beach early Sunday Morning.
Troopers say the pedestrian was walking in the left hand southbound lane of Route 1 near the grass median just north of Destination Daytona Lane when he was struck at 12:22 a.m.
The vehicle's driver told troopers he did not see the pedestrian enter the roadway.
The pedestrian pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released to the public, as FHP officials are in the process of notifying his family.
Charges against the driver are pending.
