Hundreds of graduates from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota are making it big in Hollywood.

Out of the top 50 grossing animated feature films of all time, Ringling students have worked on 46 of them.

“It’s starting to become a regular thing for us, where we have a lot of alumni who have done an amazing job where they are,” said Jim McCampbell, Department Head of Computer Animation at Ringling.

McCampbell said his former students are working on almost every well-known animated film out there these days.

Last weekend, Pixar’s “Inside Out” won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film at the 88th Academy Awards. Thirteen Ringling graduates worked on this movie.

"It's been such a thrill watching 'Inside Out' be so successful, especially when it carries such a wonderful message," said Jaime Landes Roe, a Ringling graduate who was directing animator on "Inside Out." "I feel very lucky to have been a part of it, and it was so great to have worked alongside so many of my talented peers from Ringling College of Art and Design on such a special film."

At last year's Academy Awards, 29 Ringling graduates worked on the Oscar-winning animated film “Big Hero 6,” and Ringling alumni Patrick Osborne won the Academy Award for Best Short Film, Animated with his film “Feast.”

“Obviously I think it speaks very highly of the education students are getting here,” said McCampbell. “The students are extremely dedicated to what they’re doing. The faculty are extremely dedicated and we all work very hard.”

McCampbell said his students are being hired by big companies like Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, as well as General Motors and even NASA.

Ringling senior Joshua Mock said he is inspired to know so many grads are doing well.

“It definitely makes you feel like you can do it,” said Mock.

McCampbell said around 700 people apply to get into the computer animation department at Ringling every year. Only about 90 students are accepted.

The full roster of Ringling College of Art and Design graduates who worked on "Inside Out" includes Katherine C. Bickley, Justin M. Farris, Robert S. Gibbs, Catherine B. Hicks, Alexander J. Marino, Alonso Martinez, Lucas Martorelli, Amber L. Martorelli, Andreas Procopiou, Gwendelyn C. Enderoglu, Jaime R. Landes Roe, Michael W. Sauls and Jessica R. Torres.
