A 32-year-old woman who died after driving into a lake in Largo may have suffered a medical issue.

Toni Wallace was driving south on Alt. Keene Road late Friday night when the car crossed East Bay Drive, then continued south across a field and into the lake.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found the car completely submerged.

Passenger Carey New, 20, was able to get out of the car unharmed.

Wallace was pulled unresponsive from the car. She was taken to Largo Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Police have not released any further information. The case remains under investigation.
