The Make-A-Wish Foundation has a wish of its own. It’s looking for more people to participate in its annual “Walk for Wishes” fundraiser.

  • Walk for Wishes set for April 30 at Curtis Hixon Park
  • Fundraiser goal is $200,000
  • Funds raised will support Make-a-Wish Central and Northern Florida

Amir Brown is one of the “Wish Kids.” Brown has been battling sickle cell anemia since he was three days old.

He and his family received a trip to Hawaii through Make-a-Wish. This year he’ll be walking with Bright House Networks as our team ambassador.

The “Walk for Wishes” fundraiser is set for Saturday, April 30 at Curtis Hixon Park from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Organizers say the event’s success is critical to it granting the wishes of children battling life threatening medical conditions.

Organizers hope to raise over $200,000 to support Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida. Currently, they are 90 percent of the way toward reaching their goal.

To participate, people can start a team, join a team, or donate. To find out more, and to join Bright House Networks in "Walking the Walk," visit the Walk for Wishes event page.
