A 16-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Palm Harbor.

According to Palm Harbor Fire Rescue, the teen was struck along U.S. Alternate 19 at Delaware Avenue just after 7 a.m.

The teen was in the crosswalk when he was struck, and the driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.

Authorities said the teen was conscious as he was transported by helicopter to an area hospital. His condition is unknown.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the scene was clear a short time later.

The crash remains under investigation.
